On the 28th of February 2026, Kuen Cheng High School Chemistry Department organised a half-day field trip to the National Science Centre for all Senior 3 Science students. The purpose of this trip was to broaden students’ knowledge in science beyond classroom walls. At 8am sharp, the students gathered by the lobby, brimming with excitement as each class boarded their respective buses in an orderly manner. Soon, the students took off and embarked on a very scientific journey.
When all students arrived at the National Science Centre, we gathered at the arrival hall to listen to a briefing given out by the Assistant Head of the school Chemistry Department, Mr Chong Yee Ting. He reminded everyone to stay in their preassigned groups, and to not go astray from said groups as to ensure student safety. After that, the whole cohort of Senior 3 students and teachers took a group photo together to commemorate this wonderful event.

Upon entering the building in an orderly manner and passing through a fish tank, students scattered across the building like a droplet of dyed ink diffusing in a cup of water. The majority of the students grouped together to engage in interactive, hands-on experiments around the first and second section of the building while other groups explored it thoroughly before trying out said interesting exhibits with much enthusiasm.

Some students also bought an exclusive VR section ticket with their teachers to enjoy more exciting activities. After concluding their exploration in the National Science museum early, students gathered around the main hall to relax as they awaited for the main event.
At 11.30 sharp, all of the students met again at the front hall to watch the main event of the day – A live, scientific demonstration on stage. The presenter was overjoyed having to interact with hundreds of active participants, whose cheers were brimming with excitement. Some students even actively volunteered to participate on-stage activities.
