Throughout the Spring Festival, students and teachers of Kuen Cheng High School were encouraged to send blessings to each other as a simple way of celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year holidays together. Thus, an event was arranged where pre-drawn ecards could be used as templates for everyone to write blessings without much hassle. All they needed to do was to type their blessings into the Google Form supplied by the school, insert the information of the recipient and pick an ecard template they like. The rest would be handled by the event coordination committee.
The ecards used in the event were the works of the winners in the eCard Designing Competition that was held earlier, all being wonderfully created based on the theme, Tiger. The event was coordinated by the school’s Spring Festival eCard Committee with help from the Music Composing Society.
The event was held from the 25th of January until the 10th of February, giving students and teachers ample time to write their sincerest blessings. Over time, a total of 619 blessings were written.

To learn more about the inner workings of this event, we interviewed the President of the Spring Festival eCard Committee, Pua Luo Suen from Sr2ScA.
She admitted that the most challenging part was the shortage of time in terms of preparation. Fortunately, the Music Composing Society stepped in by sending members to help, greatly reducing the burdens of the committee. Furthermore, they also faced difficulties in promoting the event. However, thanks to the hard work and effort put in by the committee, the event was well received as students gave enthusiastic responses.
Since this was a first for everybody, Luo Suen said that she had to teach the committees how to make the cards. Enthusiastic KC-ians sent in quite a lot of greetings which resulted in the need for mass production. Despite receiving a lot of responses, the committees responded well and completed all the work within the time limit.
She also mentioned that she was satisfied with the event. The responses received were quite fruitful. She rated this experience an 8 out of 10 and said that she felt very happy that they could provide a platform for students to send their greetings. Even though there were a few mishaps in the process, she was thankful for the help of some teachers and her fellow committee members who ensured that the event went smoothly.
In addition, she also thanked the Music Composing Society, the eCard Group Committee, Ms. Lim Bee Hsiang and Mr. Lim Wicky for helping throughout the event.
We would like to give the President of the Spring Festival eCard Committee, Pua Luo Suen and her teammates a big round of applause for their hard work. Lastly, we wish everyone a Happy Chinese Lunar New Year!
