To provide students with greater exposure to higher education opportunities and new pathways for their future, Kuen Cheng High School organised a two-day Education Fair from the 10th to the 11th of July in the school Lee Shin Cheng Hall. Bringing together more than 89 universities and educational institutions from Malaysia and all around the world, the fair offered students an opportunity to explore a wide range of academic programmes, scholarships, and future career pathways. The event hall was filled with neat, well-designed exhibition booths, informative displays, and enthusiastic representatives eager to share insights about their respective institutions.

This Education Fair was open to students from all year levels. To help Junior 3, Senior 1, Senior 2 and Senior 3 students make the most of attending the event, our Counselling Department provided them with a guidebook introducing the participating universities, along with a worksheet to complete during their visit. Throughout the fair, university representatives warmly welcomed students, introducing the academic programmes offered by their institutions and answering questions regarding admission requirements, tuition fees, scholarships, campus life, and career prospects. Many students also collected brochures and souvenirs along the way while completing their worksheets with the information they gathered from the various exhibition booths.

During the second day, Saturday, the Education Fair was separated into two sessions: One was before recess, and one after. In the first session, specifically Senior 1 students from the Science stream, along with Senior 1 students from Commerce stream were arranged to visit in the early morning. With the assistance of the Counseling Department, which was also the organiser of the event, students were able to enter the hall without a hitch. One step into the hall, students’ animated conversations had already filled the atmosphere that was once calm. Different scenarios were all happening at once at the fair: There were students still roaming around, in search of their ideal universities; meanwhile, the students who had spotted their target immediately went up to the representatives without further hesitation.

After the first session of the fair had ended, everybody present was given an hour break before the second half of the fair started. Soon, the break was over, it was then the students from Senior 1 Art stream as well as the students from Senior 2 Science stream’s turn to take a look at the fair. Parents had also come to Kuen Cheng High School to check out the Education Fair after school ended. At last, the event began with excitement and concluded with satisfaction.

Education fairs are and will always be meaningful for every student, whether they are passionate about their pursuit or not. It has not only helped students to find the most suitable universities for them to further their education but also regained the confidence they have lost during years of dedication to studying.
