On 11th June 2025, Kuen Cheng High School held a series of activities during English Week, one of them titled “Explorace School Adventure” for our Junior level students. This event is unlike any other contest–it’s a clash of intellect, agility and strategy. For this activity, each group has to complete riddles and challenges.

The person in charge gathered all the competitors and explained the rules of the Explorace. Every group paid close attention as the instructions were laid out clearly. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Once the explanation was complete, each group quickly huddled to prepare for the start of the game.

The first checkpoint was located at the school gate and all the teams rushed in that direction. At the gate, a person in charge was waiting with a riddle. The riddle served as a clue for the next checkpoint. The teams had to think carefully to solve it. Some groups solved it quickly, while others paused to discuss possible answers.

After interpreting the hint correctly, the students discovered that the next checkpoint was at the canteen. Upon arriving, each group faced a fun challenge. They had to do jumping jacks as a team. It tested not only their energy but also their coordination. After completing the challenge, another person in charge provided them with a clue for the third checkpoint. Students were whispering and pointing in different directions.

Before long, a few groups figured it out and dashed off to the other checkpoint. They visited places like the library, the teacher’s office and the school basement. Each checkpoint was cleverly designed to challenge the students in different ways.
Throughout the game, the school grounds became a lively battlefield. Students were running, laughing, shouting hints to their teammates and fully engaged in the activity. The energy was electric. Some students were strategic and thinking carefully. Others sprinted from one end of the school to the other.

The last checkpoint brought the students to a calm and scenic spot–the school pond. There, the final challenge awaited. Competitors had to spell three tricky words given by the person in charge. These words tested their spelling ability in English. It was the final push before the finish line. After completing the spelling challenge, each group received the final letter in a series of alphabets they had collected from each checkpoint.

With all the letters in hand, each group has to solve one last puzzle–rearrange the letters to form a meaningful word or phrase. The team that completed the checkpoint, challenges and puzzle solving would be declared the winner.
All groups received candies for reward. Everyone had smiles on their faces and even those who didn’t win the first place felt proud to have taken part in such a fun and challenging event.
The Explorace School Adventure turned out to be more than just a competition. It was a day of excitement, teamwork, learning and unforgettable memories.
