To celebrate the Kuen Cheng 118th Anniversary, as well as foster students’ thorough knowledge of historical school figures, a small yet engaging bookmark booth was organised by the School Anniversary Preparatory Committee from 7 to 11 September 2026.

The booth was assembled on the ground floor of block A, where a few student-staff members stood readily to welcome customers with enthusiasm. At the entrance of the booth, a separate table displayed samples of handmade bookmarks, whereas bulletin boards pinned with posters also surrounded the area.

Upon entering the humble establishment, a staff member will instruct newcomers to draw one strip of paper from a pile, printed with a meaningful quote spoken by a historical school figure. The students must then match the quote to one of eight surrounding posters.

Each of the posters presented brief yet detailed descriptions of prominent historical figures that had contributed to the school immensely. For example, Madam Zhai Zhao Xun, who had once been Kuen Cheng High School’s headmistress for 30 years.

A few minutes later, after perusing the contents, the participants will soon be asked one simple question regarding a key detail from their designated poster. If answered correctly, they may each receive a blank bookmark.

Nearing the end of the experience, they were guided to decorate their bookmarks using unique floral-patterned stamps and Chinese phrase stamps, then choosing from a variety of colourful tassels to finalise the bookmark’s design.

The students happily returned to class at the sound of the bell, bringing back both a memorable souvenir and a deeper understanding of our school’s history.
