On 28th February 2026, the Kuen Cheng Counseling Department organized the Senior 1 Coming-of-Age Ceremony in the school hall. The event was hosted by two counseling teachers and attended by all Senior 1 students.
The ceremony began with a warm speech by Principal Dr. Chua Lee Lee, who congratulated the students on their transition into senior years. She then spoke about the responsibilities and challenges that accompany this new stage of their lives, encouraging them to approach it with determination. She concluded her speech by expressing her hopes for their future growth and direction.

This was followed by the postcard design award ceremony, where Tan Zi Yi (Sr2ScD) won first place. The school’s Counseling Department then presented each student with a postcard and a school-emblem badge as a souvenir. The ceremony continued with a symbolic badge-pinning ceremony before the senior students’ speech.

Two seniors who had also stepped into this new chapter of life delivered inspiring speeches, sharing their enlightening experiences and the obstacles they had faced throughout their first year of senior high. ‘Growth’ is always uncomfortable, but ‘change’ is what makes us adapt. Eventually, “Growth” and “Change” became the central themes in both speeches. By sharing their journey and insights, they provided guidance to the students as they navigated their own educational paths at Kuen Cheng High School.

Moving on to the highly anticipated yet exhilarating part of the ceremony — the glowing star trinket wristband presentation ceremony — Ms.Teoh Sim Boon, one of the hosts of the ceremony explained the significance behind this meaningful wristband. Form teachers walked towards the students, distributing wristbands with the assistance of the class monitors. Enthusiasm filled the hall as students eagerly received their glowing star trinkets. Paper hearts were also distributed to the students. Under Ms.Teoh’s instructions, the students took a moment to pen down short encouraging messages for their future selves, knowing they were not just words but a reflection and a reminder of what they are working towards. Last but not least — the ceremony came to an end on a joyful note with a lively karaoke session where voices echoed through every corner of the hall. As the wristbands lit up across the hall, a beautiful sea of glowing stars was formed, representing unity and collective promises to shine brightly as they officially began their journey into Senior 1.
