           On 26 July 2025, this highly anticipated Saturday morning, many, especially students, teachers, and parents of Kuen Cheng High School, were up early for the Excellent External Examinations 2024 Award Ceremony. The event celebrated the hard work and dedication of Kuen Cheng students and teachers, marking a significant acknowledgment of their efforts and sacrifices over the years.

           Students and parents started arriving at 8:30am, took their seats in the Lee Shin Cheng Hall. When the clock struck 9, the event officially began with a wonderful performance presented by the Chinese Orchestra, setting a calm and gentle tone for the morning. Firstly, the Honourable Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors, Tan Sri Teo Chiang Kok, was invited to give a speech. Tan Sri Teo, who was educated in English, delivered his keynote address in Mandarin, which received enthusiastic applause from the audience during the Award Ceremony. He also told the recipients that these achievements are not a finish line in their young lives, but a stepping stone for greater ambitions in the future. Everyone in the hall was inspired and deeply touched by his speech.

           Up next, our beloved Principal Madam Chua Lee Lee was invited onto the stage for her speech. According to Madam Chua, over RM230,000 approved earlier by the Board, in cash prizes is ready to be awarded to more than 500 deserving high-achieving students! Principal Chua expressed gratitude to the students for their commitment to excellence and discipline, and to the teachers for their patience in fostering the education of our students. She also noted that these achievements would not have been possible without the unwavering support of parents, teachers and all the school staff.

           Finally, it was time for the prize-giving segment of the ceremony. The awards were given to recognize the achievements of the top scorers from the Senior Unified Examination Certificate (SUEC), Junior Unified Examination Certificate (JUEC) and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). High-achievers on the Senior Unified Examination Certificate (SUEC) first came on stage to receive their deserved prizes. The whole hall was buzzing with happiness and joy. Parents and teachers took photos proudly for each recipient on stage. Each recipient on stage shook hands with the Principal and took a group picture with the brightest smiles on their faces. Behind each person on stage, each A, each award, and every bright future lies a story of dedication, persistence, and tireless effort.

           At 10:00am, the celebration was punctuated by captivating performances, including a piano solo as well as energetic diabolo and rhythmic gymnastics showcases that brought artistry and excitement to the academic stage. After that, teachers, too, were awarded for their tireless guidance to the students, with numerous subject groups applauded for achieving 100% pass rates. The Junior Unified Examinations Certificate (JUEC) batch of students from Kuen Cheng High School were also awarded the Tan Kah Kee Cup. After which, administrators from the school management office were also awarded with certificates and prizes.

           By 11:00 a.m., as the final prizes were given out, the last photos taken, people left not with just certificates and cash prizes, but a sense of pride and fulfillment from their achievements. This is not the end for the young high-achieving Kuen Cheng High School students, but the start of their bright limitless future. Congratulations to every award recipient. May this achievement be the first of many milestones in the journey ahead!
