Kuen Cheng High School, KLK Land
On a sunny Friday, 25 July 2025, at 11:00 am, Kuen Cheng High School proudly hosted a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding, in between Kuen Cheng Holistic Education Berhad and KLK Land, a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (“KLK”).
In his welcoming speech, Tan Sri William Cheng Heng Jem, as the Chairman of the School Board of Kuen Cheng High School and Kuen Cheng Holistic Education Berhad highlighted his views with regards to the unanimous decision of the Board of Governors to go for the establishment of Kuen Cheng High School 2.

Tan Sri William Cheng mentioned, “the existing campus of Kuen Cheng High School situated on Jalan Syed Putra, has experienced significant growth in the past decade and reached its maximum classroom capacity permitted. In 2024, a record 2,220 candidates participated in the Placement Test. Unfortunately, the admission rate has been just 49.8%, resulting in enthusiastic applications being turned down, and many promising young applicants unable to secure a place.” Tan Sri continued to share, “during this same period, students at Kuen Cheng High School have excelled in the Senior and Junior Unified Examinations, as well as the SPM Exam. In the 2024 SPM Exam, 550 students scored 5A or higher, representing 68.3% of our candidates and setting a school record. This achievement highlights our school’s academic excellence and demonstrates the recognition of moral qualities, sense of responsibility, and community awareness.”
Tan Sri William Cheng further shared the consensus from the Board, “a branch school not merely to replicate an existing institution, but to adopt its entire value, philosophy and the commitment in providing high-quality education.” After extensive surveys and deliberation, the new location has been finalized in Bandar Seri Coalfields, Sungai Buloh, Selangor. KLK Land has allocated a 9.78 acre site for Kuen Cheng Holistic Education Berhad to develop Kuen Cheng High School 2. With the birth of the Kuen Cheng Holistic Education Berhad, Tan Sri William Cheng firmly believes the holistic approach to deliver an all-round education will further strengthen our ultimate aim of Enriching School, Happy Students.

The development of Kuen Cheng High School 2 marks a key milestone in Kuen Cheng Holistic Education Berhad’s expansion into Bandar Seri Coalfields, complementing KLK Land’s vision of creating a vibrant, well-rounded community that caters to both educational and lifestyle needs. In his speech, KLK Berhad Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lee Oi Hian, graciously recognized that Kuen Cheng, a prestigious institution with a century-long legacy of educational excellence, is committed to advancing the establishment of a branch campus. Acknowledging the transformative power of education, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lee expressed his contentment that Kuen Cheng’s mission to provide a holistic education aligns with KLK Group’s corporate responsibility to foster a sustainable, safe, and thriving community.

According to Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lee, this specially-designed education zone currently includes Wesley Methodist Private School, SJK(T) Ladang Coalfields, and a new Chinese Primary School, SJK(C) Lee Loy Seng, set to complete in January 2028. The addition of the Kuen Cheng High School 2 will further complement the township in meeting the needs for quality educational opportunities.
The proposed Kuen Cheng High School 2 is expected to begin the recruitment of students that are ready for the intake of 2027 Academic Year.
