On the 10th and 11th of June 2025, Kuen Cheng High School English Language Society held the singing competition. The competition categories were: Junior Solo, Junior Duet, Senior Solo, and Senior Duet. For the preliminaries, the rules of the competition included any forms of singing are allowed, no backtracks (pre-recorded musical accompaniment) are provided and a time of 3 minutes will be given to each contestant to sing their song.

The competition started with the Junior Solo on the first recess of 10th June, many songs were presented including popular ones like Sophia. The finalists were announced with excitement, followed by a group photo featuring all the contestants!

On the second recess, the competition continued with the Junior Duet. All contestants tried their very best to get into the finals. A group photo was then taken for this group of contestants as well.

The next day, on the 11th of June, it was time for the senior students to show off their talents. As the 1st recess bell rang, the solo singing competition of the senior division began with a warm welcome from Thaw ZiQing, President of the English Language Society. The brave contestants confidently took the stage, one by one, to perform their extraordinary songs in the spotlight, impressing the judges and students alike. There were many outstanding performances, yet only 3 would advance to the finals held during the English Week Closing Ceremony. Congratulations to our finalists, here are their names:

Following the success of the Senior Solo, the spotlight shifted to the Senior Duet. Selected ones will meet and compete later at the English Week Closing Ceremony. There was a string of remarkable duets lined up that competed for a place in the final round. In addition, there was a crowd of students gathered to show support for the contestants, and the room was energetic and filled with excitement. After rounds of performances, three winning duets were selected as finalists:

pH Value For Good

              

These talented groups will advance to perform again during the English Week Closing Ceremony, representing the best of the senior duet talents.
