On 19th April 2025, Kuen Cheng High School held an inspirational event for all the Junior 2 students who will be attending the exam soon in May. As soon as the students settled down on their seats, the speaker was introduced onto the stage. The Counseling Department and assistants from Highschool.my distributed a sheet of activity paper to all the students in the auditorium.

Mr. Goh Kee Tong, known as Dino, started his speech without delay. He first introduced himself and shared his high school journey to everyone. Dino is well known as the co-founder of Highschool.my. It is a platform devoted to offering students academic resources as well as support for mental well-being. In addition, he is also a broadcaster on 8FM.

Dino shared some questions with the students.“What is your favourite way when you are studying?” He also shared four results of evaluation, which are visual learners, aural learners, kinesthetic learners and literacy learners.
Dino then revisited his secondary school experience by describing himself. Back then, he was just an ordinary student with dark skin, he did not enjoy studying and so his grades were poor. He lacked confidence and struggled whenever he had face-to-face conversations with anyone. His dream was to become a broadcaster. With great effort, he not only transformed his appearance but also made significant improvements in his grades! Dino was also accepted to Universiti Malaya and Shih Hsin University in Taiwan. He was thrilled to be admitted and to have achieved success in his studies some years later!
He is sensitive to hearing, whenever people speak to him, he can memorise it and not miss a word. This is his way of studying. Dino also mentioned that we have to find our ways to study and everyone’s way of studying is different. Dino also shared three keywords of learning which are concentration, self-motivation and passion. He also encourages students to download a study app called “Tomato”. This app can not only enhance a person’s focus, it can also help reduce procrastination.

After the talk, to help students reinforce what they have learned, Dino guided them to finish their activity sheet and set a goal for themselves. He asked them to jot down their goals for growth, mid-term goals and specific small goals. He also wanted students to plan their own learning schedule. To foster a more relaxing environment, Dino played a relaxing song while the students were writing on their activity sheets.

At last, before the event ended, Dino gave each of the students a small card with different quotes. He also wished everyone good luck on their studies.
